About

Explore the cultures of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Mediterranean–-from the very first cities of the Middle East and the wonders of Ancient Egypt to the peoples of early Mexico and the lives of Native American communities today. With over a million artifacts, plus contemporary works in its world-renowned collection, adventure awaits at the Penn Museum! From groundbreaking excavations to ongoing inn ... ovation, the Penn Museum has been uncovering stories of our shared humanity since 1887. The Penn Museum brings together communities for year-round happenings––from annual festivals such as CultureFest! celebrating Lunar New Year and Dia de los Muertos, Kwanzaa, and Juneteenth to after-hours events like Garden Jams and Ancient Alcohol, plus virtual classes and talks, such as the Deep Dig and Archaeology in Action, there is something for everyone.
