The House of Representatives and Senate met at Congress Hall when Philadelphia was the capital. It was also the site of George Washington's second inauguration.

Between 1790 and 1800, Philadelphia served as the capital of the United States. The House of Representatives and Senate met here at Congress Hall. This building was the site of George Washington’s second inauguration and the transfer of power to John Adams as second president.
